The Addington County Revue

The Addington County Revue is a rock n' roll band from Canada. They live in separate cities and are known for their lo-fi vintage tones, blues and folk influenced songs and energetic live shows. Come visit us soon, wont you?

Addincton County Comes To Junction City

Summer’s over in Toronto but that doesn’t mean the good times have to stop. In fact they’re just getting started over in Junction City!

The Addington County Revue is headlining a fantastic bill featuring MIMI OZSam Barron and their bands directly from Brooklyn NY as well as Toronto’s Marlon Chaplin at the Junction City Music Hall on Thursday October 13th this year 2016. Show starts at 9pm, we’re on at 11:30pm.

Fuck Work! Fuck School! When the County comes to Junction City it’s best to drop everything and get your ass down there.

Take Over The Cameron House with ACR

ACR is taking over the Back Room at The Cameron House on Saturday July 30th. It's an intimate space which lets us run the show the way we want to. Plus we've got a well stocked bar just for you.

On top of that we’re being joined by Folk Duo Greyhound Riders and, playing solo, Blues Slide wonderkind Mike Nagoda.

Yes it’s a long weekend but if you’re in Toronto I guarantee there’s wont be a single better time to be had anywhere in the city. Join us for a night of Folk, Blues and Rock’n Roll.

The Cameron House is ours for the night, and that means it’s yours too.

Addington County Revue Heads Back To Addington County

This Fri. june 10th ACR will be back in the city they started in. The Mansion at 506 Princess St. in the heart of downtown Kingston Ontario will play host to us as well as NEW FANG and one other band yet to be announced.

The cost of cover is a measly $5 and what you get in return is an evening of good booze and better tunes. More details as the show gets closer.

Another Instrument Added to The Revue

We’ve had a long history changing things up in the County. Being part of a Revue means spending the time to make the show bigger and better. Some of you may remember a time when ACR didn’t even have a bassist. Since then we’ve added different instruments and line ups. As I’m sure you’ve noticed we’ve been playing with back up singers for a while and now one of them will be adding Keys to our little dynamic.

We’re pretty happy to have Andrea Smitko tickling the ‘ol ivory with us and we couldn’t think of a better time for her debut than Canadian Music Week. Come out to Comfort Zone, 480 Spadina Ave. Toronto, to welcome her and hear what ACR sounds like now!

ACR coming to Canadian Music Week 2016

Now in important Acronym News - ACR will be coming to you live from CMW this year!

We’re Canadian, we play music, so why the hell wouldn’t The Addington County Revue be a part of this year’s Canadian Music Week?

We’re pretty excited to play Canadian Music Week 2016 and you should be too – it means you get to hear us at our most raw, watch us pull out even more stops than before, witness us add a whole new instrument to the mix.

We’re playing with Bend Sinister, Dead Broke, Boat Culture and LA rockers Dr. Boogie on Wed. May 4th at Comfort Zone. It’s an eclectic mix of bands unified by the sheer amounts of power we’re bringing to the zone – though you wont have any time to get comfortable.

Doors Open at 8:30pm, ACR is on at 9pm. All Wrist Bands accepted.

The Revue Rated on Top 50 Concerts to See in February 2016

Toronto event blog Do416 has made a list of the top 50 concerts to see in February 2016 and we're on it! Considering there are roughly 50 shows a day in this burg we're pretty excited to be listed among the top 50 of the month.

Our upcoming show with Dylan LeBlanc at The Drake Hotel on Feb. 8th is listed among other great shows throughout the city this month. We're pretty happy to be on the bill with Mr. LeBlanc - who has been referred to by critics as "The new Neil Young". We think this show is also worth seeing because we're trying something brand new. We've rearranged some of our songs to work unplugged. There's now more County in the revue then ever - and we think you're really going to love our set.

ACR Unplugged at The Drake Hotel

How many times have you been at an ACR show and thought “I wonder what they sound like unplugged?” Now’s the time to find out!

We’ve been invited to open for celebrated folk musician Dylan LeBlanc who is up on Tour from the US at The Drake Hotel Underground on Monday Feb. 8th.

We’re working hard to unplug our instruments, add new ones and generally rewrite some of our tunes to fit the vibe of the evening. Not to worry – You’ll get everything you’ve come to expect from the Revue – just with more of that County flavour.

Tickets are on sale now for $13.50 and are available on Ticketfly. That's right you can actually buy tickets to one of our shows!

Doors Open at 8pm, ACR is onstage at 9pm, Dylan Leblanc at 10pm

The Addington County Revue Adds New Bassist in Time for Show at The Silver Dollar Room

We recently put out the word that we have a brand new band member. We thought we'd post it here because, why waste a good press release?

Rock, folk and blues band The Addington County Revue will play their first show of 2016 at The Silver Dollar Room with new bassist Mike Hurlbut on Thursday, January 21.

An accomplished musician, Mike Hurlbut is has been playing music most of his life. He is a graduate of the prestigious Etobicoke School of the Arts where he studied jazz guitar, and in addition to playing the bass he’s also a master of the banjo, double bass, and the electric guitar. He’s played in several other Toronto bands including Civilian, The Continental, and wedding band The Balls and Chain. An artist at heart Hurlbut is also an aspiring filmmaker with credits including the renowned documentary on mental illness and creativity Lavarius, an official selection at the Worldwide Short Film Festival; and Every Day is Music, a film that was awarded all major funding grants from Ryerson University’s Film Studies program.

Hurlbut became a member of The Addington County Revue in November 2015 and joins founding musicians Mitch Arend (vocals, harmonica, guitar) and Evan Wise (guitar); other band members include Matt Wheeler (percussion), Katie Pearson (vocal harmony), and Andrea Smitko (vocal harmony).

“Mike's an incredible musician. I've known him for more than a few years now and have always enjoyed his work in other Toronto bands,” says Arend. “He's the kind of player that, to watch and hear, inspires you to become better yourself. He elevates any song he plays and I feel like I improve anytime I get the chance to jam with him. When we were down a bassist he was the first person in mind to join ACR - and we're lucky to have him! We can't wait to play our first show back at the Silver Dollar with him. You're not going to want to miss it.”

ACR on Girth Radio

Back in April, just as we were finishing our EP, we were invited to appear on Girth Radio - which is an awesome internet radio station based here in Toronto. A few of us piled into their studio and took a couple minutes to talk about our inspiration, how abbreviating our name saves you time/embarrassment and toothpaste.

They've peppered in a few of our tunes so so sit back and take a listen:

Drop us a line, let us know what you thought and just how full of ourselves we sound.

You can visit Girth Radio at girthradio.com where you can also stream our EP.

ACR Returns Home to The Horsehsoe To Release Their EP
