An ACR Introduction

At each show we like to open and close with a small introduction and refrain to get everyone's blood pumping and give the show a little something extra.

To help promote our upcoming show at The Horseshoe Tavern on Friday August 1st we released the intro song we performed at our recent gig at Lee's Palace. Take a look and listen and prepare yourself for August 1st!

ACR Headlines The Horseshoe

Let no one say we don't love the Horseshoe Tavern as Friday Aug. 1st will be our 4th show at the Legendary venue – and this time we’re headlining!

This is our first Friday night and first time headlining at the Horseshoe so you know it’ll be the best show we’ve put on yet. If you think we’ve put on a good show in the past – you haven’t seen anything yet. We aim to redefine the word “Spectacle”. Still, we wont be able to do it without you guys so come get sweaty with us wont you? It’s a party you and your ears won’t want to miss. I guarantee it.

The entire bill is Roots Rock/Folk themed with our friends The Key Frames as well as Oxford Blue and Blackwood Honeybees rounding out the night.

Doors open at 9:00, Show at 9:30, we hit the stage at Midnight

Lee's Palace May Not Survive ACR

Have you heard of Toronto bands The Addington County Revue or DILDONIKS? After April 26th- you will. Lee's Palace has given us free reign to put on a show so we've decided it to make it the best Toronto has seen in awhile! Which means an hour plus set, video projection and balloons for the kids (there may or may not be balloons for the kids)!

Together with The '92 Blue Jays & YEASTLORDS we're taking over Lee's Palace on Saturday April 26 with one goal in mind: to give all who dare come as dirty, sweaty, a good time as possible, while featuring some of the best live music in the city.

Back Home: ACR at The Horseshoe for a Third Time!

ACR is returning to The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern for a third time on Thursday, April 3rd! It’s been a rough winter so we’re going to heat things up to welcome Spring – Come in and get warm wont you?

The Horseshoe was quick to let us know that this show is a special night featuring all Roots-Rock, all night. In fact the word Special was used a fair amount. In our opinion it’ll only really be special if you’re there – so get your ass down to the Horseshoe and we’ll make it the best damn Thursday night you’re ears will have this year. They’ll thank you for it. Guaranteed.

Doors open at 8:30, Show at 9, we hit the stage at 10:20

The New Addington County Revue Take Measure

ACR will be taking Measure (296 Brunswick Ave. Toronto, Ont.) on Thursday Jan. 23rd. Not only will we be bringing our 2, fresh faced, members but an improved sound and that same energy we bring to all out shows.

We’ll be playing with our friends Dildoniks along with other Toronto The Effens and Navy Sky – so get ready for a Thursday night that will feel like 4 weekends worth of parties.

Jan 23 2014 Poster Final.jpg

This is only the first in what will be many gigs in the future.  Jump on now because this train is just getting going.

And Then There Was 4.... Again!

This is the official public welcoming of two new members to the ACR roster, bringing the member count to four! What's that you say? Do they have simple addition in Addington County? Shouldn't two new fellows being added bring the four piece to a sensual sextet? Alas, it would be true if not for the sad leavering of Mr. Chad Yacobucci, who is going on to rock the classical world with his nylon strings of glory, and Mr. Chris Oldfield, who has taken a leave of absence to fight goats and explore the world. Adios boys!

Now introducing the new guys:

On bass guitar the always mysterious Charles Taylor!

Graham BW.jpg

On "the skins" (drums) the exuberant Graham Wise!

While its tough to replace old friends, trust us - these guys are good and we're better than ever. Don't just take our word for it though, come take a listen at one of our plethora of future performances - starting at Measure on Thursday Jan. 23rd.

Six Months Later... A Return to The Horsehsoe Tavern

For six long months we’ve been gone. Six long months you’ve wondered: Were they even real? Was it all some wonderful, fever dream?

I can promise you we’re real. Come Wed. August 7th we’ll prove it once and for all.

Maybe you’ve witnessed our show first hand in the past, perhaps you’ve only heard tell – whisperings in the dark about a band called The Addington County Revue and how uproarious, unrelenting a spectacle they put on. Either way you’ll want to be at the Horseshoe Tavern to find out if the legends are true.

I know it’s a Wednesday night but we’re going to party like it’s the last Saturday on earth. Join us wont you?

Doors open at 8pm, Cover $5-7 (as I write this the amount of cover has not been confirmed).

Movin' on Back to The Mansion

The Addington County Revue (Mitchell Arend, Chris Oldfield, Evan Wise and Chad Yacobucci) is returning to Lennox and Addington County. More specifically Kingston. Even more specifically The Mansion.

We’ve played The Mansion in the past and they’ve graciously and excitedly welcomed us back . We’ve been away for a while exploring the wilds of the road. Honing our skills, crafting our set and we’re finally ready to return home on Thursday August 8th to put on a show you’ll not soon forget.

aug poster 1_mansion.jpg

We’ll be playing with Toronto bands The Key Frames and The Dorian Mode. Our music all complements each other very well, so the whole evening is going to be one big party. Join us wont you?

The Mansion is at 506 Princess St. Doors open at 9pm, Cover $5.

Live at The Legenday Horseshoe Tavern

One night only 02/05/2013

We consider it an honour to be able to play a venue with as much history as Toronto's The Horseshoe Tavern and can't wait to play what they call their "Nu Music Night".  We wouldn't dare show up to the Horseshoe without a few surprises. Trust us, you're going to want to be there.

Doors open 8pm, we take the stage at 9pm. No cover. The show is absolutely free.

Apparently We're a Hit in Brazil

bra.jpg

Recently, unbeknownst to us, a radio station in Brazil got a hold of the demo version of our song Movin' On, liked what they heard and posted it up on their website. They also must have done a bit of sleuthing as they seem to know a lot about us and I hadn't seen the photo that they used before either.

To check out the website click here.

And to any curious parties the blurb they wrote when translated to English (using google translate) reads:

Post to start the week with the sound of The Addington County Revue, Canadian band formed by friends of the university Mitch, Chris and Evan, that even living in different cities, have been playing for at least a decade together. The track "Movin' On" is the first official single released by the guys who started performing live last year. It's lo-fi, it's vintage, it's blues, folk... it's only rock n' roll.

A Return to The Rancho

No sooner had we stepped off the Rancho stage following our show in August were we approached to play again. That very night there were dates and times proposed and soon enough a second show at The Rancho Relaxo was booked for November 24th 2012. This time we were asked to headline and on the bill with us were Air Marshall Landing, Arms of The Girl and somebody. We took the stage at midnight and didn't leave it until 90 minutes later. We played a few planned encores and when we ran out of those we played some of our set over again. It was a cold night but there was a lot of sweat left on the stage at the end of the evening.

ACR Featured on One Way Monologue Podcast

or click here to listen.

Our Thursday Thursday show on August 23rd 2012 was, apparently, a complete success as at the end of the night the proprietor of The Rancho Relaxo Dan Wolovick walked up to us and asked if we wanted to play again sometime soon. We agreed to return in November and as the show approached he featured us in his podcast, One Way Monologue. Skip ahead to the 7 minute mark to listen to the section concerning The Addington County Revue.

Movies Made By Other People Premiers Movin' On Music Video

The music video for our song Movin' On premiered at film collective Made By Other People's short film showcase aptly title Movies Made By Other People on October 19 2012. The video was recorded live at the Rancho Relaxo on August 23rd 2012 and features a few editing techniques to mirror the vintage sound the song is steeped in. The audience was able to crack a few beers while watching which, in our opinion, seemed just about right. In fact may I suggest a stiff lager, pilsner - perhaps a pale ale to accompany any repeat viewings of the video. In fact it doesn't matter what you drink as long as you keep watching the video. In fact you now have The Addington County Revue's permission to get drunk anytime day or night,  just as long as you're watching our music video.

Head to our Video section to take a look/listen.
